crisis management support

Most business management structures are used to handling crises that occur in the normal course of business. However, when the crisis results from serious crime or other incidents that cause serious injury or loss of life to company employees, then it's difficult for routine management to handle the situation with the same degree of skill and objectivity normally applied to more routine situations.

This is where Promise Development has expertise that can help you or your senior managers to cope. Issues such as the risk of increasing criminal or civil liability, as well as the emotional effect of helping or supporting the loved ones of those most affected, requires a degree of focus which it is difficult to muster at such times. In addition there are the complications which seemingly arise in understanding police procedures, or the legal position of the Coroners responsibility. It's at such times the experience of a professional who has encountered similar situations elsewhere, can be of immense benefit in steering the corporate path.

As well as having considerable personal experience of supporting such situations, David Hatcher has access to a number of other ex-police colleagues with experience of managing and investigating such incidents. With considerable knowledge and involvement in the management of terrorist situations, he is also competent to provide support and advice in methods of combating and managing the terrorist threat. As well as having considerable experience of firearms and public order incident management, for 3 years he was a member of the London based cardre of police commanders specially trained to handle unorthodox incidents including chemical, biological, radioactive and nuclear threats.

The objective is not to take over the management of the situation (unless that is requested), but instead to provide counselling and coaching guidance to those managers within the affected company or organisation, so that they can better cope with what after all should be their normal responsibility. The expertise which Promise Development brings will support professional decision makiing and the formulation of coping strategies, as well as provide emotional support which will increase the confidence of those in positions of responsibility. Such support is available on immediate call out, or at a more advantageous rate if put onto a retainer arrangement. Payment of the retainer will provide access to a review of contingency planning arrangements for the client, as well as the provision of briefing / training sessions to address specific contingency planning issues.

If you would like further information then feel free to contact David Hatcher at Promise Development, either by telephone or email.

All enquiries will be treated in the strictest confidence.
